Chant Gita- Enchant Krishna

Chant, Learn & Live Gita is the powerful instruction given by our Pujya Gurudev, Swami Chinamayananda in order to enable us to live a noble and inspired life. Bhagavad Gita chanting and the associated competitions are vehicles for inspiring and motivating children and adults to learn and memorize the sacred verses of Srimad Bhagavad Gita. With the goal of empowering, strengthening and standardizing our programs, we have provided tools and guidelines for all centers to use for their weekly learning and conduction of the periodic chanting competitions.

PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS :

Classes: For adults, Chinmaya Mission offers Vedantic education, based on the Bhagavad Gītā and other scriptural texts. Conventional education teaches one how to make a living. Vedantic knowledge teaches one how to live in happiness. During our day‐to‐day life struggles, we often forget that the well‐spring of all joy is within us. This knowledge, and the steps to realize and experience it, is the science of Vedanta. The abiding knowledge of Vedanta rests in the vision of the One Reality, a vision that transcends race, class, creed, gender and nationality. The teachings of Vedanta are profound, yet simple; completely personal, yet universal; and above all, very relevant in today’s world. The learning and application of Vedanta enables not only spiritual development, but personal and professional growth as well.

Study Groups: A study group is a group of people who meet regularly to discuss one of the Vedantic texts. All members of the group participate equally, with one of them being a Coordinator. Poojya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda put the highest emphasis on participation in study groups by all sincere seekers. It aims to provide the wisdom of Vedanta and the practical means for spiritual growth and happiness, to individuals from any background, enabling them to become positive contributors to society. Study Group members are those who study the scriptures because they have a thirst to imbibe and benefit from the perennial wisdom of the rishis.

Chinmaya Mission Phoenix offers many classes and study groups for adults.

  • Bhagavad Gita Classes: On a weekly basis, while children are attending Bala Vihar classes, Chinmaya Mission trained Acharyas conduct pravachans (lectures) on the Bhagavad Gita for adults. The Acharyas cover the 12 chapters of this ageless scriptural text comprehensively, discussing in detail two to three verses in each class. The purpose is to inspire the novice spiritual aspirant to sincerely and diligently pursue Vedantic studies and contemplation.

  • Vedanta Classes:  Aspirants who prefer a pravachan(lecture) format for study, may join Vedanta classes that will be started soon by our Resident Vedanta Teacher Sri Venkatesh ji.

  • Kindle Life: A preliminary text of Vedantic studies, this work lays a very good foundation for all advanced studies. Full of guidance for right living, the book inspires every reader to pursue true spirituality. The language here is simple, yet forceful. Avoiding Technical jargon, Pujya Gurudev initiates us into the essentials of a higher, value-based life. Organized into over thirty lessons or essays, the material here is ideal for a novice. This study group is recommended for all new members of Chinmaya mission phoenix as an introductory study group. This group meets during weekends for an hour.
